Breast Aesthetics Aesthetic and Functional Solutions for Women
Breast aesthetics is a broad field of aesthetic surgery that covers surgical and non-surgical procedures performed to correct the size, shape and symmetry of women’s breasts. Breast aesthetic surgeries are planned according to the body structure and wishes of the person and aim to provide the best aesthetic and functional results.
What is Breast Aesthetics?
Breast aesthetics includes surgical procedures to improve the appearance of the breasts, correct changes that occur after childbirth or weight loss, eliminate asymmetry or solve functional problems. These surgeries can be performed not only for aesthetic concerns, but sometimes to improve health and quality of life.
Who Can Have Breast Aesthetic Surgery?
Breast aesthetic surgery is generally preferred in the following cases:
- Changing Breast Size: Women who experience aesthetic concerns due to small or large breasts.
- Eliminating Breast Asymmetry: Those with a significant size or shape difference between the two breasts.
- Solving Sagging Problems: Sagging that occurs after aging, childbirth, breastfeeding or weight loss.
- Breast Reconstruction: Reconstruction of breast tissue after cancer or trauma.
Types of Breast Aesthetics
1. Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty)
- It is the process of enlarging the breasts using silicone implants or fat injection.
- It makes the breasts look fuller and more shaped.
- It is also preferred to compensate for postpartum volume loss.
2. Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammoplasty)
- A more aesthetic and proportional appearance is achieved by reducing large breasts.
- It relieves health problems caused by back and shoulder pain.
3. Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
- It is applied to make sagging breasts more upright and aesthetic.
- Excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is shaped and the nipple is moved to the ideal position.
4. Breast Reconstruction
- It is the process of reconstructing breast tissue after mastectomy.
- It can be made using silicone prostheses or the patient's own tissue.
How is Breast Aesthetics Performed?
Breast aesthetic surgeries are usually performed under general anesthesia and can last between 1-4 hours depending on the type of procedure. In general, the procedure stages are as follows:
- Consultation and Planning: The patient shares his/her expectations with the surgeon and the appropriate procedure is determined.
- Anesthesia Administration: The patient is prepared for the operation under general anesthesia.
- Making the Incisions: Depending on the method chosen, an incision is made in the inframammary fold, areola (around the nipple) or armpit.
- Contouring Procedure: For breast augmentation, implants are placed or excess tissue is removed.
- Stitching and Bandaging: Incisions are closed with aesthetic sutures and a supportive bra is used.
Postoperative Recovery Process
- There may be mild pain, swelling and bruising in the first few days.
- The use of a special support bra is recommended.
- Physical activities should be avoided for 4-6 weeks.
- Full results usually appear within a few months.
Advantages of Breast Aesthetic Surgery

Natural results are achieved with personalized planning.
Risks and Side Effects
As with any surgical procedure, breast aesthetic surgeries may also have some risks:
Choosing an experienced surgeon and following the doctor’s postoperative recommendations minimizes these risks.
- Mild swelling and tenderness.
- Risk of infection (rare).
- Implant slippage or capsular contracture (in breast augmentation surgery).
- Temporary loss of sensation.
Which Breast Procedure Is Right for You?
Breast aesthetics is not a single operation but a family of procedures addressing different problems. The right choice becomes clear once your complaint is defined:
| Your complaint | Procedure to consider |
|---|---|
| Low volume, good position | Breast augmentation |
| Volume adequate, sagging present | Breast lift |
| Excess volume, back and shoulder pain | Breast reduction |
| Both low volume and sagging | Lift with an implant |
| Marked difference between sides | Asymmetry repair |
Details: breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, asymmetry repair.
Most people have more than one of these together; the plan is built from measurements taken at examination.
Pregnancy, Breastfeeding and Timing
In breast surgery, timing directly determines how long the result lasts.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding change breast tissue in two directions: volume increases first, then the tissue shrinks once milk production ends. This cycle strains skin elasticity and in most people results in sagging.
- If you are planning pregnancy in the near future: Waiting is usually the better choice; otherwise the result achieved may change.
- If you are still breastfeeding: The end of breastfeeding and a further interval are awaited for the tissue to reach its settled state.
- If a weight-loss process is ongoing: Approaching your target weight is awaited.
These recommendations are not obstacles — they exist so you do not go through the same operation twice. The decision is nonetheless yours; if your life plans are uncertain, that too is discussed openly at examination.
In every case an age-appropriate breast health assessment is carried out before surgery, and routine follow-up continues unchanged afterwards.
Pricing Factors
Costs in breast surgery vary markedly with the procedure planned. The determining factors are:
- The procedure to be performed and its extent
- Whether an implant will be used
- Whether more than one procedure is planned in the same session
- Type of anaesthesia and length of hospital stay
- The scope of the support garment, follow-up and aftercare
In line with health regulations, pricing information is not published on this page. An individual assessment is made at consultation.
Breast Aesthetic Prices
The cost of breast aesthetic surgeries may vary depending on the technique used, the surgeon’s experience, hospital conditions and the needs of the patient. It is recommended to consult a specialist to get exact price information.
Breast aesthetics is an effective aesthetic solution that women prefer to eliminate their aesthetic concerns, improve their body proportions and increase their self-confidence. The application method should be determined individually and the operation must be performed by an experienced plastic surgeon.
